Got the Package!

From Mama: The package sent 1/10 arrived! Whew! It costs about $70 to send a pretty small shoebox so this was a relief. We crammed some new shirts in there and some fattening treats!  "Some good news this week, Package arrived!!! it was awesome getting those socks (currently wearing the Jordans) shirts and candy, although most of it was gone within 15 minutes after I shared a lot of it. thank you so much for that, it was awesome to get it and i'm super grateful."

3/6/17 Hola! This week was pretty cool, we were able to do a lot of good and we are finally starting to see the fruits of our labors! Although this weekend was a little frustrating for a variety of reasons, all is well and we are super excited for the next 2 weeks as we should be able to see 2 more baptisms by the end of transfers. the best part about that all is there is even more people who are progressing and even whether I stay or leave the area I will have people to teach and eventually baptize.

This Friday we have a baptism planned for a referral we received last month and he is honestly the nicest guy I've ever met. He works as a chef in a firm of some kind and the food he makes is magical.... best food I've had here by far. not only that his hobbies include, cooking, visiting sick neighbors and feeding hungry children. Yep that's about it... Pretty much an angel, can't wait to see the good he can do in the church.

For those who want more pictures here are a few pics of a turtle we found while proselyting. The owner is a 70 year old guy who looks like hes 40 and I've pretty sure he'd beat me in arm wrestling... kinda crazy haha. (take a picture of this guy, Elder Grover!!! oops sorry... back to his letter) The other is a picture of a random street in the center of the city. please note that it is nothing like the area in which I proselyte.

For a spiritual message I want to share the experience of Ammon and King Lamoni. When Ammon defended the flock of the king, he had the power of god with him, and with that power he successfully overcame his enemies. When the king wanted to talk to him Ammon was humble, because he knew it was through the power of God he was able to accomplish this feat. The same can be applied in our lives. Sometimes we are able to accomplish amazing things, but when other recognize this we often will take credit for our accomplishments, and forget that really God gave us the ability in the first place. It's the same here in the field. There are some who look for as many baptisms as possible in order to gain the glory of man, when really it is God's glory. Unfortunately I was among those missionaries, but right now I am working to break out of that habit and to realize it is God's glory. Alma 17, 18 and 26 are good reads if you would like to study this.

That's pretty much it for this week, sorry for the lack of experiences. I'll try to write more about those next week. Love you all and I hope you have a great week.  -Elder Grover
